San Antonio Junior Forum
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in the San Antonio area for projects that assist economically, emotionally, or physically disadvantaged individuals.
The San Antonio Junior Forum (SAJF) Grant supports nonprofit organizations that provide impactful services to economically, emotionally, and physically disadvantaged individuals in Bexar County and its surrounding areas. SAJF is a volunteer-driven women’s organization founded in 1961 with a long-standing mission to enhance civic, educational, and philanthropic awareness through service and financial assistance. This grant program reflects their commitment to supporting local needs with targeted, project-specific funding. Organizations seeking funding must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt and have an independently operated local chapter within Bexar or its contiguous counties—Kendall, Comal, Guadalupe, Wilson, Atascosa, Medina, or Bandera. Grants may request up to $20,000 and must be used for clearly defined projects rather than general operating expenses or capital improvements. Eligible projects must directly serve disadvantaged populations and cannot involve funding for salaries, travel, fundraising, research, religious campaigns, or vehicle purchases, among other ineligible uses. Applications must follow strict submission protocols. All documents—including the grant application and specified supporting materials—must be compiled into a single PDF file under 30 MB. The file must be emailed to grants@sajuniorforum.org by November 1, 2025, with the subject line reading “SAJF Grant Application - [Organization Name]”. Required attachments include a detailed project budget, operating budget, 501(c)(3) determination letter, liability insurance, IRS Form 990 or two years of financial statements, and a board list. Electronic signatures are accepted. Applications will be reviewed by the SAJF Grants Committee, then approved by the Board and General membership. Review criteria include the project's reach, feasibility, originality, impact, and cost-effectiveness. Grants will be awarded based on the availability of funds, alignment with SAJF priorities, and the comparative strength of submitted proposals. Notification of awards is expected by March 15, 2026. Grant recipients must provide proof of publicity within two months of receiving funds (due by May 1, 2026) and receipts demonstrating appropriate use of funds within one year (by March 1, 2027). Checks are distributed during on-site visits by April 30, 2026. SAJF encourages questions to be directed to the Vice President of Grants via the official email address: grants@sajuniorforum.org.
