Junior League of Fayetteville announces CAP Grants 2024
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Cumberland and surrounding counties for projects that benefit children from birth to 18 years old.
The Junior League of Fayetteville (JLF) offers the CAP Grant as a reimbursement grant to support community-focused nonprofits. This program provides financial aid to multiple smaller initiatives, allowing JLF to expand its impact across a wider range of local charitable efforts. CAP Grants focus specifically on projects benefiting children from birth to 18 years old within Cumberland and its surrounding counties, including Bladen, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland counties. This grant is intended for eligible nonprofits and is structured to ensure that funds are reimbursed to recipients after expenses are incurred, aligning with JLF's commitment to serve community needs effectively. The application period for the CAP Grant is from Monday, October 21 through Friday, November 18, 2024, with a submission deadline of 5:00 p.m. Applicants may request up to $10,000, though the actual award amount will depend on the number of qualified applications and the overall fund availability. Organizations must apply annually, and funding may be granted for up to three consecutive years; however, applicants seeking a fourth year of continuous funding will not be eligible. Applications must include a detailed description of how the proposed project will benefit children and incorporate ways to market and promote JLF within the community. Eligible projects are required to serve youth populations specifically and be executed by nonprofit organizations based in the designated counties. JLF does not consider grant requests for capital campaigns, fundraising initiatives, salary expenses, religious projects, scholarships, or any long-term funding needs. These criteria are in place to ensure that the funds are directed towards impactful, immediate initiatives that align with JLF’s mission to directly benefit children and promote community welfare. Each applicant must submit three physical copies of the completed application or one digital copy, including all necessary documentation. Upon submission, JLF’s Grants Committee will reach out to each organization to discuss project specifics and the potential for collaboration. This interaction allows JLF to understand better the applicant’s needs and how the proposed project aligns with the grant’s objectives. Questions or requests for additional information about the CAP Grant should be directed to capgrants@jlfay.org. La Tasha Wolokolie, the 2024-2025 CAP Grant Chair, and Tamara Bryant, JLF President for 2023-2025, are the primary contacts overseeing this program.
