Grant Description

The Wonderful Company, a prominent private corporation committed to agricultural production and philanthropy, is offering the 2025 Wonderful Community Grants to support health, education, and social equity in California’s Central Valley. With a history of over $8.5 million granted across 142 nonprofits and 165 schools over the past decade, this initiative reflects the company’s deep investment in community development in rural regions where its employees live and work. The 2025 grant cycle opens on July 1, 2025, and closes on August 31, 2025. In this cycle, a total of $1 million will be distributed to selected schools, nonprofit organizations, local government agencies, and healthcare-related entities. Awards range from $1,000 to $50,000, with up to two exceptional proposals eligible for two-year grants of up to $100,000 each. Successful proposals must be rooted in one or more of the priority communities in Kern, Kings, or Fresno Counties, including Delano, Wasco, Shafter, Lost Hills, Avenal, Sanger, Del Rey, Firebaugh, and Mendota. Funding will support a broad range of initiatives, with particular emphasis on youth enrichment and education, community health, domestic violence prevention, the arts, legal aid, economic advancement, sustainability, and access to parks. Proposals must clearly articulate the community need addressed and demonstrate how their efforts will yield tangible and visible impacts. The funds may be used for program development, expansion, innovation, small-scale capital improvements, technology acquisition, and equipment. However, unrestricted general operating support will not be funded under this program. Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits, hospitals or clinics, community health organizations, local governments, or schools. Each applicant must provide proof of their impact on at least one of the specified Central Valley communities. The program strongly favors projects with high visibility, demonstrable outcomes, and alignment with one or more of its key funding priorities. An informational session is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2 PM PST. This session will be recorded, and applicants who cannot attend live are encouraged to request a copy of the recording. Awards are expected to be announced in October 2025. For additional questions, interested parties may consult the FAQs or contact the grants team via email at communitygrants@wonderful.com. The application form is available online beginning July 1, 2025. All submissions must be completed by August 31, 2025, for consideration.
