The Blue Rapids Community Foundation (BRCF), in collaboration with the Patterson Family Foundation, has announced its 2025 Local Grant opportunity, designed to support nonprofit organizations focused on enhancing permanent infrastructure within the City of Blue Rapids, Kansas. BRCFโs mission emphasizes community vibrancy and beautification, particularly through physical improvements to local infrastructure that foster a welcoming and appealing environment.
This grant opportunity is funded by individual contributions to BRCF and generous support from the Patterson Family Foundation. The primary objective is to financially assist nonprofits undertaking projects that result in permanent infrastructure upgrades. BRCF views infrastructure improvement as a critical element in sustaining and uplifting the visual and functional quality of the city.
Grant funding will be distributed based on a 60/40 cost-share model, with grantees responsible for securing 60% of project costs and BRCF providing the remaining 40%. This requirement ensures that applicants have a financial stake in their proposed projects. Grants will be awarded depending on the availability of funds, as determined by the BRCF Board of Directors. Projects are expected to be completed within two years, and fund disbursement will occur incrementally, proportionate to the completion percentage of the project.
The application process opens on April 3, 2025, aligning with BRCFโs annual meeting. All applications must be submitted by June 2, 2025. Selected grantees will be notified of their award status by June 16, 2025. Throughout the grant lifecycle, recipients are expected to provide progress updates, including invoices, as part of the drawdown process. A final report detailing project success and outcomes must be submitted within 90 days following project completion.
Applicants may be asked to provide additional documentation as part of the review process. A confirmation email will be sent to all applicants upon receipt of their applications. For further assistance or questions regarding the application, applicants are encouraged to contact Christine Benne at 785-587-8995 ext 109.
