Apex Digital Technology Empowerment Grant
This program provides up to $25,000 in professional IT services to mid-sized to large Michigan-based nonprofits, helping them enhance their technology infrastructure and security while aligning their digital strategies with their mission goals.
The Apex Digital Technology Empowerment Grant is an in-kind service grant program offered by Apex Digital Solutions, a Michigan-based technology consulting firm that provides strategic IT services with a strong emphasis on Microsoft-based environments. This grant initiative is focused on enhancing the technological capacity, security posture, and collaborative infrastructure of nonprofit organizations operating within Michigan. By delivering up to $25,000 in professional IT services, Apex Digital aims to empower nonprofits with tailored support to modernize their systems, align technology strategies with mission goals, and ensure safer and more efficient operations through digital transformation. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits headquartered in Michigan and actively serving at least one of the following counties: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, or Washtenaw. Additionally, applicants must employ at least 50 staff members, report an annual revenue of $15 million or more, and currently utilize Microsoft 365. These stringent requirements underscore the program’s focus on mid-sized to large nonprofit entities with established operational infrastructure and digital dependencies. The scope of services covered by the grant includes Microsoft 365 assessments and health checks, strategic IT planning and roadmapping, deployment and migration services, physical device and workspace setup, and custom projects that align with Apex Digital’s service capabilities. Applicants may propose service-aligned projects that support their organizational mission, provided those services fall within the firm’s technical expertise. The application process begins with an eligibility screening, which must be completed online at apexdigital.com/grant-eligibility. Upon meeting the preliminary criteria, organizations will receive a link to the full application. Although participation in an optional nonprofit technology workshop is not required to submit an application, it is strongly encouraged. The workshop, scheduled for August 28, 2025, includes a hybrid-format morning session open to all nonprofits and a more focused in-person afternoon session for grant-eligible organizations. The workshop offers insights into Microsoft’s nonprofit offerings, strategic IT planning, and guidance on the application process. Key dates for the 2025-2026 grant cycle include the opening of eligibility screening on July 1, the opening of the application window on July 28, and the application deadline on September 8. Applicants selected to receive the grant will be notified by October 3, followed by a discovery and expectation-setting session to be completed by October 17. The delivery of funded services is expected to be finalized by March 31, 2026, and a follow-up grant story interview will occur by May 29, 2026. These structured phases ensure accountability and measurable outcomes. Questions about the grant can be directed to grant@apexdigital.com or by calling 248-270-9670. Apex Digital Solutions’ headquarters is located at 1000 Town Center, Suite 200, Southfield, MI 48075. The grant is merit-based and not a sweepstakes or giveaway; therefore, organizations must meet specific eligibility and application quality criteria to be considered.
