Red Door Fund for Mental Health

The Red Door Fund for Mental Health is a philanthropic initiative established under the Greater Fayette Community Foundation to address persistent mental health challenges in rural Central Texas. A central tenet of the fund is community-rooted impact, with support going to programs that engage residents and foster meaningful person-to-person connections. The Red Door Fund supports 501(c)(3) organizations, collaborative efforts with nonprofit leads, and grassroots initiatives backed by eligible fiscal sponsors. Applicants must serve or be located in one of the 19 rural counties listed, including Fayette, Colorado, and Burleson, among others. Awards are structured as one-year grants with a maximum award of $10,000. There is no minimum award. Recipients may receive funding for up to three consecutive years, after which a one-year break is required. The grant cycle opens on June 1 and closes on June 30, 2025, with applications due by 5:00 PM Central Time. Applicants must submit through the online portal on the Greater Fayette Community Foundation website. Notifications will be issued by August 15, 2025, and the 12-month grant term will commence on October 15, 2025. A community celebration is scheduled for October 7, 2025. The fund operates on an annual cycle. Submissions must comply with the foundation's non-discrimination policy and avoid restricted activities such as political campaigning or religious programs requiring faith adherence. Reporting is intentionally flexible; grantees may submit updates via conversations, visits, or brief reports within 12 months. Ongoing support includes workshops, office hours, and a learning-oriented relationship with program staff.
