Lindberg Foundation Trust Grant Program

The Lindberg Foundation Trust, administered through Wells Fargo Trust Philanthropic Services, was established in 1954 by W. H. and Isabel P. Lindberg. Longtime residents of Pierce County, Washington, the Lindbergs were active community philanthropists. Their legacy includes meaningful contributions to organizations such as the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County, the Tacoma Community Chest (now United Way of Pierce County), and the Tacoma Art Museum. Their estate also gifted more than forty 19th-century French and German paintings to the Tacoma Art Museum, now known as the Lindberg Collection. The Trust typically makes around 11 grants per year, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 and an average total annual disbursement of $20,000. Applications are accepted year-round; however, to be considered at the annual grant meeting held in December, submissions must be completed by September 30.
