The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF) has opened its Arts and Culture Program grant opportunity to strengthen arts and culture nonprofits within Washtenaw County, Michigan. The program prioritizes racial equity by seeking to activate the artistic and cultural identity of all community members while ensuring universal access to arts and cultural opportunities.
AAACF is interested in supporting both new and existing community-based projects that serve communities through arts and culture with a strong focus on racial equity. Key areas of investment include community-driven art programs that serve and collaborate with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities; arts programs and organizations with BIPOC leadership; equity in arts education; entrepreneurship initiatives in the arts for economic development; empowerment of digital capacity to reach BIPOC communities; and vocational training in the arts for marginalized communities.
The application window opened on April 4, 2025, and closes on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Each organization may submit one application, requesting up to $15,000. Approximately $120,000 is available for distribution through this grant cycle.
Applicants must create a new account on AAACFโs NonProfit Portal, as a new system was launched this year. Early registration is encouraged to avoid delays. An optional information session will be held remotely via Zoom on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, with registration closing the day prior at 9:00 AM.
