The Menu of Supports Funding Opportunity: Pathway 2A – Treatment Foster Parent Supports provides a one-time $3,000 grant to assist Ohio-based treatment foster parents in delivering services and supports to youth in their care. This initiative is administered by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY) in partnership with the Ohio Children’s Alliance, which manages the grant through its Good Grants portal. The objective of the funding is to strengthen the stability and capacity of Ohio’s treatment foster homes by addressing urgent needs that support placement and care outcomes.
This opportunity is specifically designed for licensed treatment foster parents or individuals in the process of becoming licensed by DCY. Applicants must either currently have a treatment foster youth placed in their home or plan to accept a youth from Ohio’s public children services custody within 90 days of receiving funds or within 90 days of licensure, whichever is sooner. Applicants are ineligible if they received the $3,000 payment from a prior round of Menu of Supports funding between October 2024 and September 2025. To ensure fair access, applications are reviewed in the order received, contingent upon completion of a verification step by the applicant's Foster Care Worker or Home Study Assessor.
Applications must be submitted through the Ohio Children’s Alliance’s Good Grants portal between January 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM and January 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM. No submissions will be accepted after the deadline. All applicants must create an account in Good Grants and complete several components, including eligibility questions, contact verification, and a funding request form. The funding request must describe how the $3,000 will be used across three categories: professional development for the foster parent, placement-specific services, and youth-specific supports. Applications will not be reviewed unless the assigned foster care worker confirms the applicant’s responses.
Applicants should be aware that the funding is limited and applications will be processed until available funds are depleted. While submission and confirmation do not guarantee funding, the Ohio Children’s Alliance will notify applicants of decisions via email. Appeals of denials must be initiated within ten business days and will be reviewed within fifteen business days, with decisions considered final.
Approved applicants will be required to complete a post-grant survey to document use of funds and program impact. This survey will be distributed 60 days after execution of the Subgrant Agreement and due approximately 30 days later. Failure to complete this survey may result in repayment of the grant. All program inquiries must be directed exclusively to the Ohio Children’s Alliance at [email protected] to ensure accurate communication. Unauthorized outreach may affect application review outcomes.
