Chobani Community Impact Fund
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions in Twin Falls and Jerome counties, focusing on initiatives that improve food and nutrition security for local residents.
The Chobani Community Impact Fund is a private grant program established by Chobani in partnership with the Idaho Community Foundation to support organizations working to improve food and nutrition security in southern Idaho. Chobani, best known as the maker of the top-selling Greek yogurt brand in the United States, has emphasized its commitment to social responsibility alongside its business growth. Through the Community Impact Fund, the company aims to strengthen the communities its employees call home, particularly focusing on Twin Falls and Jerome counties where its operations are based. By addressing issues of food access, nutrition education, and hunger relief, the fund represents Chobani’s broader goal of creating lasting social impact in addition to producing healthy food products. The fund provides a total of $100,000 in grants for the 2025 funding cycle. Typical award amounts range from $5,000 to $20,000, allowing both small and mid-sized organizations to apply for projects that can make a meaningful difference in their communities. This scale of funding is designed to encourage practical, locally based initiatives that can directly improve lives in the region. Chobani and the Idaho Community Foundation recognize that food insecurity is a pressing challenge in Idaho, especially in rural and underserved areas, and the fund’s targeted support is intended to strengthen the network of organizations working on these issues. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with valid 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, governmental agencies and departments, and public educational institutions. All applicants must either be based in or serve residents of Twin Falls and Jerome counties. The eligibility structure ensures that local organizations and institutions with strong community ties are the primary recipients of funding, keeping resources within the region. This focus also reflects Chobani’s philosophy of supporting the areas where its employees live and work, reinforcing its role as a local corporate partner as well as a national brand. The program criteria prioritize projects that address food and nutrition security in tangible and sustainable ways. Examples of eligible efforts include community-based meal programs outside school hours, food pantries including school-based and mobile options, nutritional education for expecting mothers and preschool children, and healthcare provider initiatives that integrate food as a form of prescription or preventive care. Other eligible initiatives include programs that help individuals enroll in public benefits such as SNAP, efforts that enhance collaboration among hunger-relief organizations, and meal delivery services that reach vulnerable populations. By funding a wide variety of approaches, the program acknowledges that food insecurity is a multi-dimensional issue requiring diverse strategies. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on November 17, 2025. Proposals must not exceed four pages and should be submitted as a PDF via email to the Idaho Community Foundation’s grants office. Required components include a summary statement describing the project and requested funding amount, a project overview detailing the issue addressed and proposed activities, measurable goals and outcomes, an estimated number of beneficiaries, and a statement of organizational capacity to implement the project. Applicants must also provide a budget, including both organizational operating budget and proposed project costs, as well as a breakdown of revenue sources. In addition, applicants are asked to describe their presence in the community and opportunities for Chobani employee engagement through volunteering. Successful applicants will be notified of their award status in December 2025, and funded projects will be expected to submit a final report by October 1, 2026. The reporting requirement ensures accountability and helps demonstrate the impact of the funded programs. It also provides valuable feedback to Chobani and the Idaho Community Foundation about the effectiveness of their philanthropic investments. Reporting may include both qualitative and quantitative data, highlighting lessons learned, outcomes achieved, and ongoing challenges in addressing food and nutrition security in the region. For questions, applicants may contact the Idaho Community Foundation’s grants office at grants@idahocf.org or by phone at (208) 342-3535 ext. 19. Through this partnership, Chobani continues to invest in the communities most closely tied to its operations, demonstrating a commitment to social good that extends beyond philanthropy into direct community-building. The Community Impact Fund reflects both the company’s values and the foundation’s mission to strengthen Idaho communities, and it stands as an opportunity for local organizations to secure resources that will have a lasting positive impact on food and nutrition access for residents of Twin Falls and Jerome counties.
