The United Way of Westchester and Putnam Community Impact Fund is offering grants to local nonprofit organizations that serve under-resourced or ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) populations within Westchester and Putnam Counties, New York. These grants aim to support nonprofit efforts to improve education, financial stability, and health outcomes for these vulnerable groups.
The funding can be utilized in two main ways: first, to support specific programs directly benefitting under-resourced or ALICE populations in the specified counties in the focus areas of education, financial stability, or health; or second, to support the operational expenses of nonprofits whose missions align with these impact areas. Grants range from $5,000 to $10,000, providing flexibility for organizations to either launch or sustain critical community services.
Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. Applications must include a completed grant form and a set of required attachments, including the organization’s 501(c)(3) certificate, most recent 990 tax filing or audited financial statements, a current Board of Directors roster, an organizational budget, and a program-specific budget if applying for program support.
Applicants are asked to describe their organization's mission, details of the program or operational need, the populations served, service areas, and how their efforts meet the needs of the ALICE populations. Visibility and promotion of the program, especially how United Way’s support will be highlighted, is also a component of the application.
All applications and required documents must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2025, either online at uwwp.org/community-impact-grant or by email at aglass@uwwp.org. Applicants must also certify compliance with United Way’s non-discrimination policy. Final funding decisions will reflect the alignment of proposed activities with the stated goals of serving under-resourced and ALICE populations.
