SET SEG Foundation Education Excellence Awards
This grant provides financial support and recognition to innovative K-12 public school programs in Michigan that positively impact students and their communities.
The SET SEG Foundation, in partnership with the Michigan Association of School Boards, is offering the Education Excellence Awards to honor innovative public school programs in Michigan. Ten programs from K-12 public or intermediate school districts will each receive $2,500, a commemorative trophy, and a district road sign recognizing their achievement. Awards aim to celebrate programs positively impacting students and communities. Eligible programs must be operational during 2024 and within a Michigan K-12 public or intermediate school district. Past winners may reapply if they meet current criteria. Programs should demonstrate originality and growth in areas such as STEAM education, literacy, social responsibility, mental and behavioral health awareness, prevention, or community impact. Submissions can be district, teacher, or student-led initiatives. Winning programs will be recognized with in-person award presentations at school assemblies, board meetings, or other events, with virtual options available if needed. Winners will also gain media recognition through a press release template, mentions in SET SEG publications, and distribution to partner organizations, including the Michigan Association of School Boards and other educational leadership groups. Applications are evaluated by a panel of judges with expertise in Michigan public education. Submissions are scored on specific criteria outlined in the application. The application period opens on September 16, 2024, and closes on December 9, 2024. Applicants are encouraged to highlight the innovative and transformative impact of their programs to secure this prestigious award.
