Grants to benefit Nonprofit Organizations in North Dakota
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and community projects in the Garrison area of North Dakota, focusing on initiatives that benefit youth, senior citizens, and community development.
The Garrison Area Community Foundation, affiliated with the North Dakota Community Foundation, operates as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to fostering positive change within the Garrison community. Its core mission is to facilitate charitable giving and strategically distribute grants to support projects and nonprofit organizations in the Garrison area. Managed by a local volunteer group, the foundation focuses on building its fund and recommending annual grants, aligning its efforts with the broader goal of community development and well-being. The foundation's grant program targets a diverse range of beneficiaries with specific impact goals. High priority is given to organizations that serve youth, senior citizens, and initiatives promoting leadership and community development. The aim is to support projects or programs that can benefit a greater number of Garrison residents, thereby maximizing the positive impact across the community. This strategic focus ensures that the grants address critical needs and contribute to a vibrant, thriving local environment. In terms of priorities, the Garrison Area Community Foundation clearly outlines both high and low priority areas. High priority is placed on organizations serving youth, senior citizens, and those engaged in leadership and community development. Projects or programs that offer broad benefits to the community are also highly favored. Conversely, the foundation gives low priority to requests for multiple-year funding and requests for operating funds or day-to-day expenses, indicating a preference for project-specific funding with clear objectives. Eligibility criteria stipulate that grants are awarded exclusively to IRS-designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt groups or government agencies within the Garrison community. Groups without this designation may apply with a fiscal sponsor. Grants to religious organizations are limited to non-denominational activities that serve the entire community, ensuring inclusivity and broad public benefit. The foundation explicitly states that requests for grants or scholarships for individuals will not be considered, reinforcing its focus on organizational support and community-wide impact. Through these guidelines, the foundation aims to achieve measurable results in community development and enhanced services for its target populations.
