Women and Girls’ Health in Door County

The Women’s Fund of Door County, a component of the Door County Community Foundation, has announced a new funding opportunity aimed at improving the health of women and girls throughout Door County, Wisconsin. Established to support community well-being and gender equity, the Women’s Fund provides financial support for charitable projects that deliver long-term, data-driven benefits for women and girls. This particular grant underscores the Fund’s mission to foster informed, inclusive, and impactful initiatives that address essential health challenges. This newly announced grant opportunity provides up to $30,000 for a one-year period, with the possibility of a second-year renewal, for a total potential investment of $60,000. The funding is designed to support charitable organizations implementing new programs, scaling existing ones, or enhancing the delivery of health services to women and girls. Eligible areas of focus include healthcare access, mental health services, and public health programming. Applicants are encouraged to propose unique or innovative programming that would not be possible without this financial support. Applications must include benchmarks of success that organizations will use to measure program progress and impact. These benchmarks will be reviewed during the evaluation process and will play a significant role in the consideration of a second-year renewal. All applicants must complete the Common Grant Application Form along with Addendum W, which specifically outlines the health program or initiative being proposed. The application deadline for this health-focused grant is October 20, 2025. Awards will be announced by the end of the calendar year. If a program is renewed, applications for the second year of funding will open on April 20, 2026, unless otherwise specified. All awarded organizations are required to submit a final report detailing the outcomes and effectiveness of their funded initiatives at the conclusion of the funding cycle. In addition to this new health grant, the Women’s Fund continues to offer Community Grants focused more broadly on the advancement of women and girls. These are awarded biannually, with deadlines on the fourth Monday in March and the fourth Monday in September. Community Grants typically average $5,000 per award and support a wide range of initiatives that provide education, promote dignity and self-esteem, and tackle critical issues affecting women and girls. Only one application per cycle is allowed, and grantees must submit a final report after the project concludes. Applicants must have their Chief Executive Officer review and sign the complete application packet before submission. Typed names and email addresses are acceptable as electronic signatures if submitted via email.
