2025 Autism License Plate Grant Program
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Florida to deliver direct services to individuals with autism and related disabilities and their families.
The Autism Services Grants Council (ASGC), administered by Arc Broward, a nonprofit organization based in Florida, oversees the Florida Autism License Plate Grant Program. The ASGC was established following the 2009 authorization by the Florida Legislature of the “Support Autism Services” specialty license plate. The purpose of this initiative is to support programs that provide direct services to individuals with autism and related disabilities, as well as their families, throughout the state of Florida. For the 2025 grant cycle, ASGC invites proposals from nonprofit organizations for projects delivering direct services to individuals with autism and related disabilities. Grants will not exceed $10,000 per award and will cover a one-year project period. The grant funds must be used strictly for direct services and cannot be used for the purchase of vehicles, real property, capital improvements, or to fund capital campaigns, endowments, lobbying, research, or expenses incurred prior to grant approval. Any proposed project must comply with the financial and audit requirements under the State Projects Compliance for the Autism License Plate (CSFA Number 76.109), including the Florida State Single Audit Act if applicable. Eligible applicants are nonprofit entities currently designated as 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service and must also possess a current Florida Charitable Solicitation Registration or valid written exemption. The organization must offer services in the state of Florida to individuals with autism and related disabilities. Organizations that have previously received ASGC grants are eligible to reapply, contingent on the submission of their final reports for any prior funding. Applications for the 2025 cycle opened on July 1, 2025, and must be submitted electronically by July 31, 2025. Applicants are expected to complete an online form and upload required documents, including IRS designation letters, Florida charitable registration, line-item budgets, most recent IRS Form 990 (first page only), and a list of the current board of directors with contact information. The ASGC does not allow applicants to save incomplete forms, so all materials should be prepared beforehand. The application requires detailed organizational and project information including the agency’s mission, annual operating budget, prior grant history with ASGC, a summary of the proposed project, number of individuals to be served, service charges if any, and a budget showing how funds will be allocated. Additionally, applicants must address their involvement with or plans to support marketing efforts for the "Support Autism Programs" license plate and suggest new ways to improve outreach and awareness for the plate program. Applications will be acknowledged via email, and those who do not receive confirmation within three business days are encouraged to contact the ASGC through Arc Broward by phone at 954-746-9400 or by email at info@autismlicenseplate.com. Only one application per nonprofit organization will be considered during this cycle.
