Grant Description

The Winter Park Community Grants, administered by the Central Florida Foundation through the Winter Park Community Foundation, are designed to strengthen nonprofit organizations serving the Winter Park, Florida community. The program provides targeted, one-time capability building and programmatic grants to help local nonprofits expand their capacity, enhance the effectiveness of their operations, and deliver more meaningful services to residents. Through this initiative, the Foundation aims to support innovative projects that address key community needs in human services, education, health, arts, environmental sustainability, and economic stability. The Central Florida Foundation is a regional philanthropic organization that partners with donors and community leaders to support transformational change through strategic grantmaking. The Foundation evaluates opportunities using its Nonprofit Search database to identify strong, transparent, and accountable organizations. The Winter Park Community Foundation serves as a local arm, focusing specifically on the unique needs of the Winter Park area and its residents. In 2025, the Winter Park Community Grants program will award a total of eight grants. Three organizations with annual revenues exceeding $250,000 are eligible for grants of up to $25,000, while five organizations with annual revenues between $50,000 and $250,000 are eligible for grants of $5,000. Funding may be requested for capability building or programmatic projects that strengthen internal systems, enhance technology, train staff, or expand collaborative programming. Projects need not cover full program costs but should demonstrate how the grant will build measurable community impact. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that have operated for at least 12 months and are in good standing with the IRS. Organizations must be located in or serve the residents of Winter Park, Florida. Applicants must also have a complete and reviewed profile in the Central Florida Foundation’s Nonprofit Search system, which is used to verify eligibility and assess organizational capacity. Certain financial documentation is required depending on the organization’s budget size, and organizations currently under active grant agreements with the Foundation are ineligible. The application process begins with the creation or update of a Nonprofit Search profile, followed by submission through the Foundation’s MyGrant portal using access code WP2025. The application opens on August 25, 2025, and closes on September 26, 2025. New Nonprofit Search profiles must be submitted for review by September 8, 2025, and existing profiles by September 12, 2025. Applications must be fully submitted by the final deadline for consideration. The grant program follows an annual cycle with recurring opportunities expected each late summer or fall. Questions regarding eligibility, submission, or access to the MyGrant portal should be directed to Alissa Mahadeo, Community Investment Manager, at amahadeo@cffound.org or by phone at 407-872-3050. The Foundation strongly encourages nonprofits to maintain accurate profiles in Nonprofit Search to maximize visibility for both the Winter Park Community Grants and other Central Florida Foundation funding opportunities throughout the year.
