Ellison Education Grants

The Ellison Education Grants are designed to empower and support Washington State’s most effective, innovative, and inspirational K-12 public school teachers. The program provides financial assistance to educators who develop academic enrichment curriculum for students or professional learning experiences to enhance their current teaching practices. By acknowledging the expertise of classroom teachers, the Ellison Foundation aims to support initiatives that improve educational outcomes for students. Since its inception, the Ellison Foundation has awarded $562,000 through 119 grants over the past eight years. The foundation plans to distribute multiple grants in the spring of 2025 for projects and programs that will be implemented during the 2025–2026 school year. Grant amounts range between $1,000 and $10,000. Eligible applicants must be employed at a K-12 public or charter school in Washington State and hold a valid teaching certification for the state. Additionally, applicants must have relevant experience to complete their proposed project successfully, the support of their school administration, and direct and regular contact with students. Successful applicants must also be willing to collaborate with the Ellison Foundation and share their ideas with others. The application period for the 2025–2026 school year runs from January 6 through March 30, 2025. Applications must be submitted within this timeframe to be considered for funding.
