Arts Access Grant

The Arts Access grant program provides funding for projects that enhance access to the arts for underserved and underrepresented groups, including ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, seniors aged 60 and older, and active duty military personnel, veterans, and their families. Ethnic groups are specifically defined as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or other minority populations within the state. Funding is determined by the organization’s rating in the review process and the availability of grant funds, with awards being competitive and often not fully funded. Eligible projects must focus on one or more recognized art forms, including visual arts, crafts, media, design, music, theater, dance, folk and ethnic arts, or literary arts. Applicants may also apply in other grant categories such as Arts Education, Project or Operating Support, and Arts Build Communities if eligible. However, Arts Education projects, particularly those primarily serving youth, must be submitted under the relevant Arts Education grant category. This program is supported in part by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. It aims to ensure equitable access to the arts, fostering inclusivity and cultural engagement across diverse communities
