Grant Description

The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine (CFGM) is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Muscatine County and Louisa County, Iowa. Each year, CFGM grants over $5 million to local organizations that are actively working to address community needs and promote long-term solutions. The foundation emphasizes the importance of strong nonprofits and community groups in fostering a thriving region and offers strategic expertise alongside funding to help these groups fulfill their missions sustainably. The foundation supports a broad range of projects, provided they benefit residents of Muscatine County and/or Louisa County. Funded programs or initiatives must be completed within 10 months of receiving the grant. To ensure proper use of funds, the foundation requires grantees to submit a final report, provide digital photos, and submit receipts validating their expenditures. CFGM reserves the right to investigate proposals further to confirm their validity or to gather more details during the review process. All applications must be submitted through the CFGM’s online grant portal by the deadlines indicated on the application site. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. The grant application process includes clear guidelines and expectations to assist applicants in submitting complete and thorough proposals. In addition to grant funding, CFGM hosts an annual awards program that celebrates the achievements of individuals and organizations in the community. These include the Great Initiative Award for a volunteer behind a transformative project, the Youth Initiative Award for a young individual leading a charitable initiative, and the Community Service Award recognizing a charitable organization addressing critical needs in Muscatine County.
