Grant Description

The In Paradise for Good Grant is the Community Foundation's annual signature funding opportunity, designed to support initiatives that foster meaningful, positive impact for residents of the Florida Keys. The program reflects the Foundation’s strategic vision of enhancing quality of life in the region through focused investments in community-driven efforts. Grants offered through this competition range from $5,000 to $20,000 for single-organization applicants, with awards up to $30,000 available for collaborative proposals that involve a partnering organization. Applications are reviewed by a panel comprised of diverse community members from across Monroe County. These reviewers evaluate proposals based on four primary criteria: alignment with the Foundation’s vision for a better Florida Keys, the project's capacity to address a clear and demonstrated community need, the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed budget and implementation plan, and the sustainability of the project after the grant term ends. Proposals must also outline specific, measurable outcomes that can be achieved within the ten-month grant period. The 2025 In Paradise for Good Grant funds activities taking place between December 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026. All spending and final reports must be completed by the end of this grant window. The program does not allow funds to be used for capital campaigns. Applications are limited to one per organization, and applicants must be in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service and fully compliant with any prior Community Foundation grant reporting requirements. Eligibility is strictly limited to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and faith-based organizations. Projects must be implemented exclusively within the Florida Keys. Applications from organizations serving areas beyond this geographic boundary are not eligible. Incomplete applications or those received outside of the designated portal will not be considered. The grant competition opens for submissions on September 2, 2025, and closes promptly at noon on September 30, 2025. Applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s online portal. Mailed or emailed applications will not be accepted. Award decisions will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of project design, organizational capacity, alignment with community needs, and clarity of measurable outcomes. Applicants are encouraged to ensure all compliance requirements are met and reporting from any past Community Foundation grants is up to date before applying. The Community Foundation remains committed to supporting efforts that create real and sustainable improvements for the Florida Keys community, now and for generations to come.
