The 2025 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) is a grant opportunity provided by the U.S. Embassy New Delhi’s Public Diplomacy Section, aimed at supporting social impact projects led by alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs. This opportunity encourages alumni teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that address key global challenges. Projects must align with specific themes such as the environment, entrepreneurship, regional security, and democratic values. Applicants must form teams of at least two alumni, with a designated team lead, and collaborate with a legally recognized non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO). All project activities must occur outside the United States and its territories. Funding for this opportunity ranges between $5,000 and $35,000, with a total available funding of $35,000. Selected projects are expected to be completed within 12 months, beginning around July 30, 2025. Eligible proposals must address priority themes. For example, environmental projects might focus on clean energy or climate change infrastructure, while entrepreneurship projects could promote women’s economic participation or leadership roles. Initiatives under regional security include combating disinformation and addressing non-traditional security challenges, such as cyber threats. Democratic values-focused proposals might increase marginalized communities’ participation or address gender-based violence. Applications must include a detailed project proposal, budget justification narrative, and specific forms like the SF-424 series, along with proof of non-profit registration and other organizational compliance documentation. Proposals must also demonstrate clear communication, evaluation, and monitoring plans, as well as strong alumni involvement and partnerships with local organizations or stakeholders. The review process will assess proposals based on their relevance to the funding themes, project design, alumni involvement, partnerships, budget reasonableness, and anticipated impact. Projects that demonstrate strong local support, measurable outcomes, and sustainable results will be prioritized. Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2025, through MyGrants or via email to alumniindia@state.gov. The NOFO emphasizes compliance with diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) principles and prioritizes projects that engage underserved communities.
