Neighborhood Micro-Grant Program

Eligible projects fall into four main categories: Accessibility & Enhancements, Environmental Stewardship, Community Connection Events, and Neighbor-Nominated Projects. Examples of funded projects include building ramps and benches, establishing community fridges and pantries, organizing creek clean-ups and tree planting, hosting cultural celebrations and neighborhood BBQs, and assisting neighbors with rebuilding efforts after a disaster. The goal is to empower residents to create meaningful, small-scale improvements that have a lasting positive impact on their communities. The application process is simple and follows a step-by-step approach. Interested applicants must submit an idea through an application that describes the project, its community impact, and a brief budget explaining how the funds will be used. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority given to projects that align with the program’s mission of fostering social connection, addressing inequities, and improving the quality of life in neighborhoods. Once an application is approved, funds are disbursed to the recipient, who can then begin implementing their project. In some cases, Big Grove For Good may also provide hands-on assistance to help bring the project to life. Recipients are required to complete a brief follow-up survey to share their experiences, project outcomes, and any photos or personal stories documenting their impact.
