The Pathway to Sustainability 2025 is a structured and incentivized training program designed for nonprofit organizations serving the Greater Huntsville area, specifically in Madison County, Alabama. This initiative is managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville and aims to enhance the operational and service delivery capabilities of local nonprofit staff, Board members, and administrators. The training centers around effective case management practices and tools, with a strong emphasis on outcomes-focused strategies and the use of the CharityTracker software.
The program awards a total of $10,000 in grant funding to participating organizations, disbursed incrementally as specific milestones are achieved. Participation requires a fully populated CharityTracker profile for both the organization and its agents prior to acceptance. The grant and training opportunity include a detailed and accountable engagement structure to ensure impactful participation and learning outcomes.
Organizations selected for the program must complete several key activities to qualify for funding disbursements. These include a two-hour Board training with at least 75% Board member attendance and documented Board approval of commitment to the program, active participation in at least 75% of monthly cohort meetings including four mandatory staff training sessions, and a one-year follow-up audit demonstrating continued use and integration of the CharityTracker software. This audit must be substantiated by a CharityTracker Outcomes Report and a presentation at the Final Outcomes Meeting.
Eligible recipients are organizations operating in Madison County, Alabama, that qualify as 501(c)(3) public charities. Other qualifying entities include schools, religious institutions, and government agencies, provided that funds are used for public purposes. Grant decisions are made by the Pathway to Sustainability Grants Committee under the direction of the Community Foundation's Board of Directors.
