The Community Foundation of Broward has launched the WLW Catalyst Grants, a new funding opportunity aimed at nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. These grants are designed to have a transformative impact by enabling grantees to enhance their current programming, introduce bold new initiatives, expand their organizational reach, or improve internal capabilities. Through this initiative, the Foundation encourages strategic and imaginative approaches to arts and culture in Broward County.
Grants are available for up to $100,000 per year for a maximum of two years. Projects eligible for funding must clearly demonstrate how they will significantly strengthen existing programs, introduce bold new initiatives, increase organizational reach, or enhance operational capabilities. Additionally, preference will be given to initiatives that feature collaboration with other nonprofits, educational or youth enrichment components, or aim to increase access to the arts for underserved youth.
To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofits with active 501(c)(3) public charity status or have a fiscal sponsor that meets this requirement. Organizations must demonstrate substantial operations within Broward County, even if they are not headquartered there. Eligible applicants must also have a minimum of three years of operating history and be in good standing with the Community Foundation of Broward, including compliance with any previous grant reporting obligations.
The application process begins with a required Letter of Intent (LOI), which must be submitted through the Foundationโs online grants portal after completing an eligibility quiz. The LOI submission deadline is May 19, 2025. Organizations selected from this initial phase will be invited to submit full grant proposals by July 18, 2025. Interviews with selected applicants may follow. Final grant decisions will be announced on August 15, 2025.
Applicants are advised to carefully review the WLW Catalyst Grants Guide before applying. For further information or assistance with the LOI or application process, applicants can contact Bethany Burkhart, Coordinator of Donor Services, at bburkhart@cfbroward.org or by phone at 954-761-9503.
