Grant Description

The Kansas Leadership Center (KLC), a nonprofit organization founded by the Kansas Health Foundation, is dedicated to fostering leadership that contributes to stronger, healthier, and more prosperous communities throughout Kansas. Through its Leadership Transformation Grant (LTG), KLC collaborates with organizations across the state to cultivate a culture of leadership that is adaptable, challenge-oriented, and opportunity-driven. The purpose of the LTG is to enable organizations to embed leadership development at all levels, helping them make lasting progress on their most pressing issues. Drawing from research by KLCโ€™s Third Floor Research and third-party evaluations by ORS Impact, the grant emphasizes the significant benefits of internal leadership training. These benefits include improved workforce engagement, adaptive organizational mindsets, collaborative problem-solving, and strengthened communication across sectors including nonprofits and high-tech industries. Organizations awarded the grant will be granted access to the KLC Path, a structured three-step leadership development sequence comprised of When Everyone Leads, Your Leadership Edge, and a choice among Lead for Change, Equip to Lead, or Take Action with Actioneer. The first two programs must be completed in consecutive order, with the third offering flexibility. Participants may choose from multiple program offerings throughout 2026, and options include both in-person and virtual formats to accommodate organizational needs. The in-person programs will be conducted in Wichita, while virtual offerings will be available for the first two steps. Grantees are required to establish a Core Team of 3 to 6 individuals, including at least one person in a senior leadership role. This team is responsible for attending KLC programs, recruiting and supporting participants, engaging in evaluation activities, and leveraging KLCโ€™s resources and consultations. Organizations must also handle the costs associated with program materials such as books, which are not covered by the grant. Eligibility is limited to civically engaged organizations within Kansas from the education, faith, government, or nonprofit sectors. Each applicant must submit a complete application online between August 11 and September 14, 2025. Required components include a letter of support from a senior authority within the organization and the identification of Core Team members. KLC will announce award decisions by mid-October, with onboarding sessions for grantees taking place virtually in November. Questions about the application process can be addressed during a Q&A session with Partner Manager Camille Scott, offered on three dates: September 8, 9, and 10, 2025. Additional inquiries may be directed to Camille Scott by phone at 316.261.1570 or via email at cscott@kansasleadershipcenter.org.
