Beaird Family Foundation Grants
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in the Shreveport and Bossier City area of Louisiana that are focused on community development and improving the lives of local residents.
The Carolyn W. and Charles T. Beaird Family Foundation is a private philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the lives of people in the Shreveport and Bossier City region of Louisiana. The Foundation supports organizations that promote opportunity, freedom of action, self-betterment, and a climate for change in the communities they serve. As a family foundation, it takes a locally focused approach, offering financial support to nonprofits working toward meaningful community development and improvement. For the Fall 2025 grant cycle, the Foundation is accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) from qualified nonprofit organizations between July 1 and July 21, 2025. The LOI is the preliminary step in the grantmaking process, serving as a screening tool to determine eligibility for the full application process. The LOI submission requires a summary of the organization, a description of the proposed project, and both organizational and project budgets. LOIs must be submitted through the Foundation’s online grant management system, powered by Foundant Grant Lifecycle Manager. First-time applicants must schedule a preliminary meeting with Toya Graham, Executive Director, before submitting an LOI. Once an LOI is submitted by the July 21 deadline, applicants will receive an email confirmation. Notifications about the status of their LOI will be sent via email by August 1, 2025. Organizations whose LOIs are approved will be invited to submit a full grant application between August 1 and August 15, 2025. All application materials must be submitted through the same online portal and will be evaluated based on the initial LOI materials as well as the application responses. Final funding decisions will be announced via mail on November 15, 2025. To be eligible, applicants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations. All applicants must comply with the Foundation’s nondiscrimination policy. Organizations that previously received a Beaird Foundation grant must submit a follow-up report before being eligible to apply for future funding. For grants awarded in the Fall 2025 cycle, the follow-up report will be due by December 1, 2026. These reports provide space for recipients to share outcomes, data, improvements, and future plans based on the funded project. The grant is not available nationwide and is only open to organizations providing services in the Shreveport and Bossier City region. Only one LOI may be submitted per organization per cycle. If an LOI is not accepted for the Fall 2025 cycle, the organization must wait until the Spring 2026 cycle to reapply. For any questions regarding the Fall 2025 grant cycle, applicants may contact the Foundation via phone at 318-221-2823 or email at info@beairdfoundation.org. Additional information and application forms are available at www.beairdfoundation.org/grants. The Foundation also provides a 20-minute Letter of Intent Guidance video to help applicants strengthen their submissions. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review this guidance before submitting their LOI.
