MI Solar Access Program
This program provides funding to organizations in Michigan to help low-income households access solar energy, prioritizing projects that serve predominantly low-income subscribers.
MI Solar Access Program (SAP) Summary Program Objective: Provide solar energy access to low-income households in Michigan. Eligibility: Applicants must be located in Michigan's cooperative or municipal electric utility territory. Eligible entities: Cooperative Utility, Municipal Utility, Local or Tribal government, Non-profit Organization, Small- to Medium-Sized Business. Other applicants must be physically located in Michigan and serve projects in Michigan's cooperative or municipal electric utility territory. Priority given to projects with 85-100% low-income subscribers. Funding Amount: Up to $100,000 per applicant. Award Process: Applications evaluated based on program priorities. Selected applicants notified via email. Awardees receive a grant agreement outlining terms and conditions. Expenditures before grant agreement execution will not be reimbursed. Proposal Deadline: Until funding is depleted or 5:00 PM ET, March 31, 2025, whichever comes first. Note: Awards given on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.
