Grant Description

Blueprints for the Community is a grants program supported by the Highmark Delaware Fund, a donor-advised fund administered through the Delaware Community Foundation. Since its inception in 2007, the Blueprints program has contributed more than $32 million to support health initiatives across Delaware. The program is driven by a mission to promote equitable health access and outcomes across the state by funding local projects and services with direct health impacts. The fund particularly emphasizes inclusivity and collaboration among community-based organizations. This grant opportunity supports health-related programs and services that align with one or more of Blueprints' core priority areas. These areas include increasing access to healthcare for uninsured or underserved populations, reducing health disparities among minority communities, fostering early childhood development with a health focus, recruiting and training healthcare professionals, and addressing the broader social determinants of health. Programs that demonstrate partnerships with minority-led or community-based organizations are strongly encouraged. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations classified under IRS 501(c)(3) and public-serving government agencies such as libraries, public school districts, and parks departments that do not generate revenue. Applicants must be based in Delaware or ensure that the proposed project is implemented entirely within the state. Organizations with active Standard or Special Blueprints grants are permitted to apply for a Small Grant if the new proposal is distinct and previous reporting obligations have been met. The current grant cycle opened on February 9, 2026, and the application deadline is April 9, 2026. Submissions will be reviewed in the month following receipt, with final funding decisions communicated by the end of the following month. Small Grant requests may not exceed $50,000, and funds may not be used to supplement existing Standard Blueprints grants. This program operates on a recurring cycle with regular opportunities for submission. Applications must be submitted online through the Delaware Community Foundation’s application portal. While no pre-application materials are required, applicants are advised to review the official grant guidelines carefully before submitting. An informational webinar is scheduled for February 20, 2026, to assist prospective applicants in understanding program priorities and expectations. For questions or further information, applicants may contact Maggie Oda at [email protected] or Denee Crumrine at [email protected]. Full grant guidelines are available through the Delaware Community Foundation website. The Blueprints for the Community Small Grants program offers a recurring funding opportunity for organizations seeking to advance health equity and address critical needs throughout Delaware.
