Building CBO Capacity to Evaluate Veteran Suicide Prevention Programs
This funding opportunity is designed to help Veteran Service Organizations improve their ability to evaluate and enhance programs aimed at preventing veteran suicide.
The "Building CBO Capacity to Evaluate Veteran Suicide Prevention Programs" Request for Proposals (RFP) aims to enhance the evaluation capacity of Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) through targeted support and technical assistance. This initiative is funded by a federal grant and is managed by the CDC Foundation in collaboration with the CDCโs National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (Injury Center) and the Safe States Alliance. The project seeks to fund up to two VSOs to conduct either formative evaluations that guide program development or process evaluations for existing veteran suicide prevention strategies aligned with the CDCโs Suicide Prevention Resource for Action (Prevention Resource). Successful applicants will receive intensive technical assistance to plan and execute their evaluations, assess program alignment with the Prevention Resource, and build organizational evaluation capacity. Applicants should be prepared to allocate 15-20 hours per week of staff time to evaluation activities, though prior extensive evaluation experience is not required. Organizations must meet specific eligibility criteria and provide comprehensive application materials, including budget and program information, as part of the application process.
