Grant Description

The Neighborhood Matching Grant Program is a funding opportunity for Kirkland neighborhoods to improve the quality of life in their communities. The program provides City funds for physical improvements and community building activities. To be eligible, projects must be located within a Kirkland Neighborhood Boundary Map, meet Neighborhood Association Criteria, meet Matching Grant Project Criteria, and fulfill Matching Grant Contribution. Applicants can apply for the grant through the digital application process on the City of Kirkland's website. Once projects are approved, the Neighborhood Chair will receive a Matching Grant Program Agreement for electronic signature. Funds will be released on a reimbursement basis, typically within two weeks of online reimbursement submission with approved invoice/receipt copies. A Final Report and Match Log must be submitted by January 31 of the following year to document project completion and achievements. It is important to note that organizations failing to submit a Final Report will be ineligible for future grants. The City of Kirkland also provides a general liability insurance policy to cover approved projects and events under the terms of the Matching Grant Agreement.
