Women’s Fund Grant in Spencer County

The Community Foundation Alliance offers the Women's Fund Grants Program to support charitable projects and activities that benefit Spencer County, Indiana. The program is administered through the Women’s Fund, which is part of the broader Community Foundation Alliance, an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life across various counties through philanthropy and community development initiatives. The primary purpose of the Women’s Fund Grants Program is to provide financial support for nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies that serve the residents of Spencer County. The grant program aims to foster positive community impact across several key areas, including arts and culture, community development, education, health, human services, and other civic endeavors such as environment, recreation, and youth development. During the 2024 grant cycle, the program awarded eight grants totaling $10,000, demonstrating its commitment to addressing community needs and promoting sustainable development. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, as well as governmental agencies serving Spencer County. Organizations that do not hold a 501(c)(3) designation may still apply, provided their projects are charitable and fulfill a recognized community need. In such cases, applicants may be required to work with a fiscal sponsor, a verified 501(c)(3) public charity, which must submit a signed statement from its board president confirming its role in managing the grant funds and overseeing the proposed project. The application process requires applicants to complete a detailed grant application explaining how the award will be utilized to benefit the community. The Women’s Fund grants committee is responsible for reviewing all submissions, conducting site visits or phone interviews as needed, and selecting grant recipients. All applicants will be notified of their application status by August 30, 2025. Selected recipients will be invited to a grant reception to formally acknowledge their awards. Reporting is an integral part of the program. Organizations that receive funding may be required to submit a final report upon project completion. This report ensures accountability and allows the Foundation to track the impact of its funding. Detailed instructions and any necessary forms for reporting will be provided in the grant agreement issued to each recipient. The current grant cycle opened with an application deadline set for July 14, 2025.
