The Ladies Benevolent Society: Advocates for Older Adults Grants

The Ladies Benevolent Society: Advocates for Older Adults Grants are administered by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and support charitable initiatives that promote the health, independence, and overall well-being of older adults in the Oshkosh, Wisconsin area. With a history spanning more than 150 years, the Ladies Benevolent Society Fund prioritizes efforts that address the economic, social, and health-related challenges faced by elderly residents, especially those aged 55 and older who are low-income or socially isolated. While grant amounts typically reach up to $5,000, larger awards may be made for capital-focused initiatives. Preference is given to proposals that serve a high number of older adults and show measurable outcomes or previous impact through prior grants from the Ladies Benevolent Society Fund. Grant funds generally do not cover staff salaries or benefits. The program seeks to support direct services, outreach, enrichment activities, and essential needs that foster community connection, dignity, and aging in place for seniors in economic need. Past grants have enabled programs that reduced isolation, supported nutrition and mobility, and offered creative engagement opportunities for older residents. Applications must be submitted through the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation’s online grant portal no later than October 15, 2025. Following initial review, applicants may be asked to submit additional documentation. Funding decisions will be announced in November.
