The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office is offering funding through the 2025 Forfeiture Fund, which supports community-based organizations dedicated to anti-crime and anti-narcotics programming. As mandated by the Pennsylvania Controlled Substances Forfeiture Act and a federal court order, these funds are earmarked to assist initiatives targeting at-risk youth, violence prevention, substance abuse recovery, and reintegration for those returning from incarceration.
The 2025 funding cycle focuses on programs operating in the summer and those intervening in gun violence. Specific priorities include mentoring for girls, trauma-informed and healing-centered services, and programs geared toward engaging girls and young women. Organizations serving all genders, including transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals, will also be considered.
Grants will range from $10,000 to $50,000, with an average of $25,000. Priority is given to grassroots organizations with annual operating budgets under $1 million. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits providing relevant programming within Philadelphia. Applications will be evaluated based on their alignment with fund goals and program quality.
To apply, organizations must complete an application and submit several documents including proof of nonprofit status, a list of board members, financial statements, a nondiscrimination policy, and both organizational and project budgets. A certificate from the PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations is also required if applicable.
Applications opened on May 19, 2025, and the final deadline to submit is June 6, 2025, at 11:59 PM. The grant operates on a rolling basis, with awards made throughout the cycle. Questions about the application process can be directed to DAsGrants@philafound.org.
