The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) administers the Palmer Family Foundation Fund, an annual competitive grant opportunity specifically for nonprofit visual and performing arts organizations located in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. This grant supports projects and programs designed to enhance the arts landscape within the county. General operating costs are not eligible for this funding opportunity.
Grant awards can be up to $15,000 per organization. Applications open on February 1, 2025, and close on May 1, 2025. Applicants will be notified of award decisions by August 1, 2025. Projects must take place during the grant year, which runs from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. Organizations using fiscal sponsors may also apply, provided all project activities occur within Franklin County.
The Palmer Family Foundation Fund prioritizes initiatives that directly serve Franklin County’s arts community and encourages programs that align with the Foundation’s mission. Funding is not available for advertising, lobbying, capital campaigns, retroactive expenses, religious purposes, or projects without sustainable staffing plans. Evaluations are based on the project’s connection to the Foundation’s mission, clarity of proposed activities, funding diversification, measurable success, and attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Applicants may request a draft review of their application up to two weeks prior to the submission deadline by contacting TFEC’s Community Investment Team. For general inquiries or application support, organizations can reach out to grants@tfec.org or call 717-236-5040.
