The Women’s Education Coalition is a collaborative of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; the YWCA of Kalamazoo and the former Kalamazoo Network. The grant can be used to enroll in a professional development opportunity, trade, technology, vocational or certificate program, or an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree program. The grant may be used by part-time or full-time students. Eligibility Criteria Women residing in Kalamazoo, Barry, Calhoun, Allegan, St. Joseph or Van Buren County who have had a significant break in their education or are seeking additional education to improve their career and pay opportunities are eligible. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how post-high school education will assist in reaching goals of increased financial independence.
