2024-2025 Artist Support Grant Program
This grant provides financial support to individual artists and small groups in North Carolina for projects that enhance their artistic skills, promote their work, or create new art.
The 2024-2025 Artist Support Grant Program offers financial assistance to individual artists and small, unincorporated groups of collaborating artists residing in specific counties of North Carolina. Administered by the Arts Council of Moore County, this grant provides awards ranging from $500 to $3,000. The program aims to support professional and artistic development for both emerging and established artists across various genres including visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, music composition, choreography, and interdisciplinary arts. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old and have lived continuously for at least one year in one of the designated counties: Anson, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Stanly, or Union. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and provide proof of residency. Both individual artists and small artist collectives may apply; however, all members of a collective must meet the residency requirements. Artists who have received this grant within the past two years are not eligible to reapply during that period. The grant supports a wide range of project costs related to artistic growth and career advancement. Eligible expenses include materials and supplies for new work creation or presentation, training workshops or classes (in-person or virtual), travel for professional development or research purposes, rental fees for equipment or studio space, and career promotion activities such as website development or portfolio creation. Up to half of the grant amount can be allocated toward an artist fee representing labor costs. Projects funded by this grant must take place between January 1 and December 31 of 2025. The program encourages applicants to propose projects that will enhance their skills or expand their audience reach through new work completion or professional growth opportunities. This funding is intended for adult artists who are not full-time undergraduate or associate degree students; however, those enrolled in certificate programs or graduate studies outside their art form may qualify. Applicants should note that current board members and staff of regional partner organizations—and their family members—are excluded from eligibility due to conflict-of-interest policies. Additionally, sole proprietors who have recently received funding from the North Carolina Arts Council within two years are not eligible to apply through this program. For more details on application procedures and requirements, interested artists should visit the Arts Council of Moore County’s website. This grant provides an opportunity for artists in the region to invest in their creative practice with financial support tailored specifically to their developmental needs over a one-year project period.
