The APIs RISE Fund, organized by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, offers grants of up to $10,000 to support projects that strengthen leadership, media literacy, and mental health resources within the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. This initiative aims to amplify AANHPI voices and address critical needs in the capital region through philanthropic collaboration.
Eligible projects must align with one or more focus areas: promoting multi-racial democracy through community empowerment and leadership development; enhancing media literacy and visibility of AANHPI narratives; or providing mental health resources tailored to AANHPI populations. Applicants are required to submit a project description, examples of relevant organizational experience, a justification of suitability for the work, a detailed budget, and a brief report upon project completion.
To qualify, organizations must serve AANHPI populations, have 501(c)(3) status, and operate in Sacramento or Yolo counties. Pacific Islander-led organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. Additionally, applicants cannot have received APIs RISE Fund grants for two consecutive years, starting with awards issued in 2020.
Applications open on December 16, 2024, and close on January 17, 2025. Submissions must be made through the foundationโs online application system; email or paper applications will not be accepted. Organizations should ensure their legal name, tax ID, and fiscal sponsor information are up to date within their grant profiles.
