H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Grants for Cultural Initiatives

The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation is currently accepting applications for the "H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Grants for Cultural Initiatives," dedicated to strengthening Armenia’s cultural institutions, fostering artistic creation and engagement, and revitalizing cultural heritage. This initiative supports museums, theaters, art schools, cultural centers, and similar organizations through a combination of infrastructure upgrades, professional development, cultural programming, and heritage preservation. Applications for this funding opportunity must align with at least one of nine specific objectives grouped into three main categories: Strengthening Cultural Institutions, Promoting Cultural Creation and Engagement, and Revitalizing & Activating Cultural Heritage. Examples of fundable activities include upgrading infrastructure, supporting operational sustainability, creating new cultural works, expanding public cultural engagement, professional development for cultural practitioners, transforming heritage sites into living cultural spaces, preserving monuments and archaeological sites, and safeguarding Artsakh’s cultural heritage. Eligible applicants include NGOs, foundations, public or community institutions, and cultural organizations registered in Armenia with a minimum of three years of experience, as well as 501(c)(3) organizations registered in the United States that focus on Armenia-related missions. Collaborative projects between organizations, including public-private partnerships, are encouraged. The total funding available for this cycle is $390,000 USD, with an expected 6-9 awards. There are no strict minimum or maximum award amounts specified per applicant. The application process begins with an eligibility quiz, followed by submission of a full application form if deemed eligible. All complete applications must be submitted via email by June 30, 2025. Funding decisions will be communicated by early August 2025. Recipients are required to submit interim and final narrative and financial reports detailing activities, challenges, successes, and financial expenditures, including visual documentation such as photos and videos. Grant funds cannot be used for operational overhead, political activities, or commercial product development, and must include a sustainability plan if applicable. The application process begins with an Eligibility Quiz available on the Foundation's website. Successful completion of the quiz will lead to receiving the full application package. Applicants may be invited for interviews or discussions before submitting their full applications. Grant recipients are required to submit interim and final narrative and financial reports as agreed upon in the grant agreement letter. Financial reports must document expenditures made during the reporting period, while narrative reports should include pictures, videos, and explanations of accomplishments, challenges, and future plans.
