Kindred Area Community Foundation Grant Program 2024
This grant provides funding to non-profit organizations and government agencies for community projects within the Kindred School District area in North Dakota.
The Kindred Area Community Foundation (KACF), administered by the North Dakota Community Foundation, offers grants to support projects and non-profit organizations within the Kindred School District's geographic area, encompassing Davenport, Hickson, Kindred, Leonard, Oxbow, and Walcott. The foundation's mission is to facilitate community development by receiving and distributing funds to benefit local initiatives. It operates as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation under IRS code 501(c)3, adhering to established investing and grant-making policies. Target beneficiaries include non-profit, tax-exempt organizations under IRS Code 501(c)3, or government agencies that are based and operate within the Kindred School District boundaries. The KACF aims to foster community support and address local needs through its funding. The overall impact goal is to strengthen the community by supporting projects that serve residents and demonstrate a high level of local involvement and community support. The foundation prioritizes projects based on their individual merits, the organizational management and integrity of the applicant, and the level of local involvement and community support, including fundraising efforts. Lower priority is given to applications requesting funding for day-to-day operations. Grants to religious organizations are limited to non-denominational activities that serve the entire community. The KACF does not provide grants to individuals. Organizations are restricted to one request per calendar year. In its funding decisions, the Advisory Board strategically considers the number of residents served and the overall community impact, as well as the degree to which the KACF grant will contribute to the project's success. This approach reflects the foundation's theory of change, where targeted investments in well-managed, community-supported projects lead to measurable positive outcomes and enhanced community well-being within the Kindred School District. Expected outcomes include the successful completion of funded projects, increased local engagement, and a demonstrable improvement in the areas addressed by the grant.
