Grant Description

The One Nevada Program, administered by Douglas County, Nevada, offers annual grant funding to support projects that address the local impacts of the opioid crisis. This funding is made available through settlement agreements resulting from opioid-related litigation under the Agreement on Allocation of Opioid Recoveries. The program provides grants to nonprofit organizations and government agencies whose work delivers a substantial benefit to Douglas County residents through prevention, intervention, treatment, recovery, and other related services. The program is grounded in Nevada Revised Statute 244.1505, which permits counties to allocate funds to entities that promote the public good. For the 2026 funding cycle, applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on October 15, 2025. Submissions may be made in person, by mail, or by email to the Douglas County Social Services office. All projects must align with one or more priority areas identified in the countyโ€™s April 2023 Opioid Use/Opioid Use Disorder Community Needs Assessment. These include enhancing case management systems, supporting opioid education and prevention campaigns, school-based prevention programming, interventions within the criminal justice system, detox-to-treatment transitions, aftercare and recovery services, housing supports, crisis services, and capital projects that address substance use disorder infrastructure. Applicants must complete a comprehensive application that includes organizational details, a project summary, funding request and budget, results of prior awards (if applicable), and signed assurances. The project summary must also detail coordination with existing county assets and resources, describe evidence-based practices used, and outline both quantitative and qualitative metrics for impact assessment. A sustainability plan for post-grant funding is required. Funding may be pro-rated to align with the calendar year. All grants are subject to approval by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and the availability of appropriated funds. Projects may also receive consideration after the primary deadline if additional resources remain. All applicants are required to submit supporting documents, including an organizational chart, federal tax returns, balance sheet, agency budget, and a completed assurances form. Letters of support are optional but not required. Questions can be directed to Sarah Johnson at Douglas County Social Services via phone at 775-782-9825 or email at sjohnson@douglasnv.us. The grant application and related materials are available online. Projects funded by the One Nevada Program must not supplant existing funding mechanisms but should instead provide targeted interventions that reduce the harm caused by the opioid epidemic in Douglas County.
