2025 MLK Day of Service Mini Grant
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations, schools, and government entities in Virginia to support community service projects that honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day by addressing local needs and promoting equity.
The Serve Virginia Mini Grant program supports National Day of Service projects across Virginia, honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January and 9/11 Remembrance Day in September. These grants aim to foster community engagement through volunteer-driven initiatives that address pressing local needs or systemic issues, promoting equity in areas such as education, the environment, and the economy. Eligible applicants include public or private nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools, higher education institutions, and government entities serving Virginia. Grants of up to $250 are awarded on a reimbursement basis, requiring proof of project completion and volunteer involvement. Applications for mini-grants open each summer for the 9/11 Day of Service and each fall for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Along with funding, Serve Virginia offers promotional support to raise awareness of service projects, including featuring stories and organizations on their website and social media.
