Grant Description

The Derrick Hall President’s Circle Grants are a philanthropic initiative of the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Major League Baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Established with a commitment to making a tangible difference across Arizona, these grants are designed to support efforts that uplift individuals and provide solutions for complex societal challenges. The President’s Circle Grants reflect the organization’s goal to reduce homelessness, eliminate hunger, enhance healthcare access, and provide assistance to the most vulnerable populations in the state. The Foundation prioritizes intentional investments that generate ripple effects of transformation throughout the community. The grants are program-specific and are offered in the range of $1,000 to $5,000. They must be used for programmatic expenses that directly impact the individuals served by the applying organization. Funding is not intended for capital campaigns, annual appeals, debt or deficit reduction, endowments, fundraising events or activities, lobbying, legislative activities, or direct funding to individuals. Programs or projects funded through these grants must be completed within one year from the date of the award. Applications for the 2026 cycle will open on July 1, 2025, and will be accepted until 5:00 PM MST on August 14, 2025. All submissions must be completed online via DonationXChange. Applicants are required to provide detailed documentation, including an agency overview, a current Board of Directors roster, board-approved financial statements, a project timeline, a description of how the funds will be used, and expected outcome measurements. Additionally, grantees are required to submit an end-of-year Grant Progress Report. The review process involves Arizona Diamondbacks players, team executives, and the Foundation’s Executive Council. Successful applicants will be notified by email no later than December 19, 2025. Funding will be disbursed by January 15, 2026. Past recipients of the President’s Circle Grant are eligible to reapply, making this an opportunity for sustained program support. Eligible applicants must be physically located within Arizona and recognized as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations by the Internal Revenue Service. Organizations without a valid IRS Tax ID may still apply with the support of a fiscal sponsor. While requests from a wide range of human services are considered, organizations running school-based programs or youth sports leagues are generally directed to other Diamondbacks Foundation grant programs better suited to their focus areas. The Derrick Hall President’s Circle Grants stand as a testament to the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation’s enduring commitment to equitable community support, with a strong emphasis on strategic, grassroots investments. These grants aim not only to address immediate needs but to foster long-term resilience and social equity throughout Arizona.
