The Advance Redding Fund for the Performing Arts in California
This grant provides funding for collaborative performing arts projects by nonprofit organizations in the Greater Redding area, aimed at enhancing community engagement and artistic collaboration.
The Advance Redding Fund for the Performing Arts is designed to support performing arts organizations in the Greater Redding area by funding collaborative projects. This grant encourages local performing arts organizations to work together to create original productions that benefit the Redding community. The initiative aims to foster artistic collaboration, expand creative opportunities, and strengthen the performing arts ecosystem in the region. A key objective of this grant is to promote partnerships between performing arts organizations. Proposals that demonstrate collaboration between multiple organizations are strongly encouraged. The lead organization must submit the grant application and will be responsible for fiscal management and grant reporting. Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) from all collaborating organizations must be included as part of the application. Funded projects must be based in and serve residents of the Redding area, which includes Cottonwood (within Shasta County) to the south, Shasta Lake City to the north, Palo Cedro to the east, and Igo/Ono to the west. The geographic focus ensures that the funded initiatives directly impact the local community and enhance regional performing arts offerings. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code (public charities), public entities such as counties, special districts, and federally recognized tribes, and projects fiscally sponsored by a nonprofit or public entity. However, organizations with past-due grant reports to the Community Foundation of the North State are ineligible to apply. The maximum grant request is $24,500. The funding may be used to support various aspects of a performing arts project, including production costs, outreach, and other necessary expenses to execute the proposed initiative successfully. The application must provide all required organizational and fiscal information, applicable only to the lead organization. The deadline for grant applications is March 12, 2025. Organizations interested in applying should ensure they meet all eligibility requirements and submit a complete application before this deadline. Contact information for the Community Foundation of the North State is available for any inquiries related to the grant process.
