The Arts & Culture Grants Program, administered by the City of San Leandro and the Arts, Culture and Library Commission, is designed to support nonprofit organizations and individual artists or culture bearers based in San Leandro. This civic grant program promotes high-quality artistic and cultural initiatives that celebrate and enrich the San Leandro community.
Eligible projects for funding include a wide range of artistic and cultural disciplines, such as dance, music, theater, visual arts, literary arts, cultural arts, media, interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary arts, traditional/folk arts, and performing arts. The program aims to provide financial support to projects that foster cultural expression, creativity, and community engagement.
For the 2025 grant cycle, the program will allocate a total of $75,000 in funding. Nonprofit organizations leading arts and culture projects may apply for grants of up to $10,000, while individual artists and culture bearers may apply for grants of up to $5,000. Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that align with the City’s cultural enrichment goals.
To assist applicants, the City will host a Grant Applicant Mixer and Q&A session on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the San Leandro Main Library (300 Estudillo Avenue, Karp Room). This session provides an opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions and receive guidance on the application process.
