The BUILT Nonprofits program seeks to allocate $2 million in total funding, with individual awards of up to $100,000. These grants are intended to support building improvement projects that include energy-efficient upgrades such as insulation, lighting, HVAC system enhancements, weather sealing, and energy-efficient appliances. Eligible projects also extend to advanced systems like grid-interactive building technologies, energy monitoring systems, and electric appliances that replace fossil fuel-based counterparts. Roof repairs, window replacements, and necessary electrical system upgrades to enable energy-efficient measures are also eligible for funding.
