The Musgrave Multi-Year Impact Grants, managed by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) on behalf of the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation, are designed to address significant challenges in the Springfield-Greene County area through long-term, high-impact solutions. For the 2025 cycle, the grant program focuses on "Keys to Housing," with the aim of tackling the affordable housing crisis affecting low-income communities in the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The program will provide funding of up to $750,000 over three years to support initiatives that bring sustainable improvements to housing accessibility and stability.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, government entities, school districts, and tax-exempt faith-based organizations that are actively involved in providing housing support to low-income residents within the Springfield MSA. While projects must primarily serve Greene County, they may also include work in Christian, Dallas, Polk, and Webster Counties. Organizations currently receiving Musgrave Multi-Year grants under other themes, such as "Student Citizenship" or "Opportunities to Thrive," are not eligible to apply.
Applicants can request up to $100,000 annually, with a maximum of $750,000 across three years. The program budget for 2025 is $250,000. Initiatives may span one, two, or three years, and applicants have the flexibility to request varying amounts each year to meet their project needs. Projects must adhere to the foundation’s nondiscrimination policy, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status in employment practices and service provision.
The grant process involves multiple stages, starting with the submission of concept letters by February 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Finalists will be notified on or before March 26, 2025, and invited to submit a full proposal by April 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The review process will take place from April 29 to May 30, 2025, and grant recipients will be announced during an event in mid-June 2025.
To support collaboration during the application process, the grant platform includes a feature allowing organizations to invite team members to contribute. Permissions can be set for viewing, editing, or submitting the application. Tutorials are available to assist applicants in using this feature effectively.
