The United Way of Central Kansas Impact Grant Program supports nonprofit and governmental programs that serve Barton and Pawnee Counties. This initiative reflects the United Wayβs commitment to strengthening local communities through focused investments in health, education, and financial stability. These three pillars form the core criteria used to determine alignment and potential community impact for all applicants.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and governmental agency programs, provided their services benefit residents in Barton or Pawnee Counties. Applications from individuals are not accepted. Grants are capped at $1,000 per project or program annually, and the total distributed through this program will not exceed $5,000 in any single year.
Funded activities must target specific programs or projects, excluding event sponsorships and general operations. Eligible proposals should identify unmet community needs, present innovative and sustainable solutions, and include measurable outcomes. Preference is given to initiatives that directly align with UWCK's strategic focus areas: Healthy Communities, Youth Opportunity, and Financial Security.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. However, reviews occur twice annually β in May and November β with scoring criteria tied directly to UWCKβs priority areas. The next submission deadline is November 13, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to justify the amount requested, which may be up to $1,000, with supporting documentation or rationale.
The program does not support event sponsorships, annual campaigns, building funds, operating deficits, retroactive funding, lobbying activities, religious purposes, or costs associated with hospitals, medical facilities, or research. Interested applicants may learn more or request application materials by visiting www.uwck.org or contacting unitedwaycentralks@hotmail.com. Questions may also be directed to 620-792-2403.
