Qualifying projects must either promote Linn County’s cultural or historical identity or serve as community attractions that draw residents and visitors. Priority will be given to proposals for events, programming, and capital projects, rather than general operating support. Projects must avoid duplicating existing or long-standing events and should demonstrate clear goals, a return on investment, and a plan for financial sustainability beyond the funding year. The application process for FY26 begins in September 2025, with a submission deadline of October 31, 2025, at 4:30 PM. Applications may be submitted either electronically or via mail. Applicants may also request to present their proposal to the Board of Supervisors by October 10, 2025, though presentations are optional. Award decisions will be made in November 2025, and final reports are due by September 1, 2026. Only expenses incurred after the award date are eligible for reimbursement, and funded projects must be substantially completed by September 1, 2026. The Board of Supervisors evaluates applications based on historical and cultural relevance, long-term impact, population served, clarity of goals, and the degree to which the project complements existing community development initiatives.
