Grant Description

The Boynton Beach Small Business Grants program provides critical financial assistance to local businesses within the city limits of Boynton Beach, Florida, for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The initiative is structured to support the economic vitality of the community by offering three distinct funding opportunities that address core operational, marketing, and job-creating needs of small businesses. All grants are provided on a reimbursement basis, requiring recipients to initially cover project costs, which the city will then reimburse upon approval and submission of relevant documentation. The first of these is the Support Grant, offering up to $10,000 per applicant. Its primary aim is to aid small businesses in acquiring capital for necessary equipment, inventory, commercial property improvements (for businesses with at least two years remaining on their lease), and software or technology upgrades. This grant is particularly designed to help businesses overcome capital access barriers that often hinder growth or expansion. The Marketing Grant provides up to $2,500 per business and is intended to enhance marketing capabilities. Eligible uses include the creation and execution of marketing or social media plans, website development, marketing content and materials, digital and traditional advertising, and branding consultation. By supporting better visibility and outreach, the city hopes to enable small businesses to reach a broader customer base. The third funding track is the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Microenterprise Assistance Program. This grant is tailored for microenterprises—defined as businesses with five or fewer employees—that are either located in or owned by individuals from low-to-moderate income (LMI) areas. Funding includes a base amount of up to $10,000 for eligible expenses, with an additional $2,500 per LMI job created, up to four positions, for a total potential award of $20,000. Job creation is a mandatory requirement for this grant, though businesses may still qualify if they show documented efforts to hire LMI individuals. To be eligible, businesses must be for-profit, privately held, have 1 to 25 employees, and be located within the Boynton Beach city limits but outside the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Districts. Ineligible businesses include nonprofits and those engaged in restricted sectors such as firearm sales, adult entertainment, political organizations, and CBD or vape retail. Required documentation includes valid ID, tax receipts, business registrations, tax returns, and a signed W9. Applications are reviewed by a grant review task force, and only complete submissions with all required documents will be considered. For questions or assistance, applicants may contact the Economic Development team at [email protected] or 561-742-6205.
