Mini Grants
This funding opportunity provides up to $2,500 to Arkansas-based nonprofits, government agencies, and educational institutions for innovative projects that improve oral health through supplies, education, preventive services, or treatment connections.
The Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation Mini Grant program offers small-scale funding to support community-focused oral health initiatives across Arkansas. This grant is intended to promote innovative approaches to improving oral health equity through prevention, education, treatment, and collaboration. Awards of up to $2,500 are available to eligible Arkansas-based nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, and charitable dental facilities. Grants are not awarded to individuals or for-profit entities. The Foundation prioritizes proposals that address the oral health needs of underserved, uninsured, or underinsured residents in Arkansas. Common areas of focus include distributing oral hygiene supplies, educating the community on oral health practices, connecting individuals to dental treatment, and providing preventive services in partnership with dental professionals. Projects are expected to present clear objectives, a strong implementation plan, and a detailed and appropriate budget. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the calendar year. Reviews are conducted twice monthly, on the second Thursday of each month. In order to be considered, completed applications must be submitted at least one week prior to the evaluation date. Funding decisions are issued the following day—on the second Friday of the month—and disbursement typically occurs two weeks later. Final project reports are due within 30 days after the project end date as entered in the application. Eligible organizations may submit only one mini grant application per calendar year. All funded activities must demonstrate a direct impact on oral health and be tailored to the needs of Arkansans lacking adequate access to dental care. Use of funds may include administrative and staffing costs directly tied to program delivery, capital needs like supplies or equipment, clinic treatment costs, and other operational expenses. However, the program does not fund salaries of dental professionals, third-party payments, fundraising, or general operating deficits. Applications are reviewed by a committee of Delta Dental of Arkansas employees, who contribute their time voluntarily. Final funding decisions are based on project clarity, anticipated oral health impact, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission. All decisions are final and not subject to appeal. Organizations with questions are encouraged to contact the Foundation via email at foundation@deltadentalar.com. A detailed list of submission and notification dates, along with full program guidelines, is available on the Foundation’s website.
